A far away song floats in my mind
With no words I can find
As I try to express
Things forced to repress
For many years
Held back tears
A battle waged inside
That was forced to hide
Now it slips out through the cracks
No longer covering tracks
I run without fear in moonlight
Hope in sight
Down metal stairs to freedom below
The prison memories seem long ago
Heart pounds with joy
That they cannot destroy
New Universe
There is no sunlight
Just eternal starless night
As I stand at the edge of the universe
Yet I do not curse
For even in my darkest hours
I shine from within
With powers
That refuse to fade
And so I grin
Despite the chaos made
By the sudden vision of imploding balls of fire
It is not my time to expire
I fall to my knees
But in my hands I hold the keys
As I feel my enemies behind me, stare speechless with their weapons lowered in shock
No longer smug and ready to mock
For a new universe is being created
By the one they most hated
While they were on a path of destruction and terror
My enemies made a fatal error
They forgot there is more to life than possessing what others want
I turn and face them but not to taunt
Instead I offered them something worth more than jewels or gold
That cannot be sold
A simple truth to set them free
So they now see
Life is sacred, treasure it in all its forms
Even those that follow different expectations and norms
